Happy Birthday!

Kids love to talk about their birthday.  They just do.  Here at the start of a new school year, why not take a minute and recognize that special day for each of your kiddos.

Here's an activity that can not only do that, but teaches them about pictographs at the same time.

There is a student version...

An anchor chart version...

And a bulletin board version...

All include a color set and a black & white set.

The color version is ready to print, laminate and cut.

The black & white version can be used to get the whole class involved by giving each student their own balloon to decorate.  They can include their name and birthdate right on it.  Once decorated, you can build the pictograph with your kids by calling out each month and having the students with birthdays in that month come up and put their balloon on the graph.

It makes for a great classroom display that can stay up all year!

You can find it here.
